Backing up orkut

I have had some great discussions over orkut.com. But for some reason orkut isn't as keen on keeping them as i am. So here i am, making a backup for what i read and liked.

The idea is to put up my own words and those of others that i liked copy pasted from orkut.
I am starting with the community 'atheists'.

The first topic being 'Back up':

Back up

With orkut 'censoring' extensively. I think we should create a back up of the better discussions elsewhere from where it is easily retrievable and viewable by all.

Much of the content in the old discussions is simply gone.

Yeah, I noticed that! I'm returning to the depths of Orkut after learning to swim the shallow waters of Facebook, but when I try to relive the good ol' times, I find that most of the entries are gone. It's no fun trying to read such great topics so mutilated now! Another thing is that these communities used to have hundreds of thousands of members; now there's only a fraction of that. AxT, for instance, used to remain at the top of the list, it was hard to keep up with the speed of its threads. Now, there can be hours until someone answers... It's like I'm Link in SNES's Legend of Zelda and I have crossed that mirror into the parallel universe, where everything's in ruins. What's going on?

Does anyone know alternative sites that can host orkut pages 'as they are' on a particular date and time ?

We could copy the pages and provide a link here.

Akhi...

Orkut has lost it's charm.

Orkut used to score over other social-networking sites because of it's communities. Now most of the communities have gone dormant.

Facebook communities are not as um...usable as Orkut communities.

Now if only they stopped that censorship crap...

Facebook communities are dead. The main reason is that people use facebook to network and not to discuss, which is why I still have an Orkut ID.

This community is worth having a backup.
There were and are a lot of really good debates here with some of the best minds I've seen in Orkut.

I can't think of an automatic way of making the backup...
